Cyberbullying is NOT LEGAL!! 

Cyberbullying is in fact a crime, and just because it is an act that occurs in the virtual world and it involves minors, does not mean that there are no laws to take action on offenders. 

The act of cyber bullying is also tracable, and if found guilty cyber bullies can be charged just like any other criminal, and under Malaysian laws can be charged under the following:

   

If convicted, the offender is liable to a fine of not more than RM50,000 or a prison term of not more than one year.

It was reported that the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 may be amended to better tackle cyberbullying.

This follows the death of a Sarawakian teenager, who jumped from an apartment, after seeing polling results on a question she put up on Instagram.

The 16-year-old girl had put up a poll as part of her Instastory, asking followers to help her choose between "D" or "L".
